Zara Houshmand is an Iranian-American writer whose work focuses on cross-cultural themes and includes poetry, theatre, memoir, new media arts, and literary translation. She was a pioneer in the development of virtual reality as an art form: her installation “Beyond Manzanar” has been exhibited internationally and is in the permanent collection of the San Jose Museum of Art. She has worked with the Mind & Life Institute since 1992, editing many of the books on dialogues between the Dalai Lama and scientists.
